MELISSA LANGRIDGE
Integrative Counselling & Psychotherapy
I am an integrative therapist which means that I pull from a range of different modalities to make sure that our work is tailored to your needs. I draw on relational developmental, person centred, and psychodynamic approaches, as well as looking at your experiences through a wider societal lens.
I believe in building a strong therapeutic relationship to foster trust and co-create a space where you can feel safe and accepted. In our work I aim to honour all parts of you, and meet your experiences with curiosity so that we can explore them together.
I have a particular interest in working with clients to explore the impact of the social systems that we live in, how we internalise societal norms and values, and how these can create challenges in day to day life including isolation, burn out, anxiety, and depression. I often work with neurodivergent and LGBTQIA+ clients to explore the impact of living in social systems that weren’t designed with us in mind.
I also specialise in supporting clients who have experienced difficulties during childhood, including trauma, abuse and neglect, to understand the impact of their experiences, develop a more compassionate relationship with themselves and reconnect with their needs.
